Honor the nurses in your life now.
Nurses,
generally speaking, are very friendly, compassionate and extremely accommodating,
especially considering the circumstances under which they often work and some
of the issues of patients and patient's relatives that they have to handle. Nursing
is an incredibly tasking profession, starting from the "bootcamp-like"
college and university programs, to the sometimes daunting situations they have
to face on the job. Nurses are the soldiers in the very forefront of fighting
diseases in healthcare institutions and in our homes. They take the heat and the
hits in various ways while caring for their patients. As most nurses know, many
hospitals and clinics are actually "run" by nurses. These
wonderful people, who spend countless hours caring for the sick, comforting people
in their final days on earth and helping to bring new life into the world, are
often not rewarded adequately. They
are the "go betweens" for doctors and patients. They often catch a lot
of misplaced aggression from the patients and their families since they are right
there at the "forefront" 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Today these valuable professionals are fast dwindling in numbers and deserve to
be celebrated. This is a site to honor nurses worldwide.
